At 23:42 on September 12,2015, with a deafening roar of sound in Xichang Satellite Launch Center, the LM-3B launch vehicle was launched, sending the Communications Technology Experimental Satellite-1 into space successfully.

The launched satellite is the first one of China’s communications technology experimental series satellites. The satellite will be mainly used to conduct a test on Ka-band broadband communications technology.

It is reported that the Communications Technology Experimental Satellite-1 and LM-3B were developed by China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT) and China Academy of Space Technology（CAST）of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation(CASC). This is the 208th flight of the Long March series carrier rockets.
