BEIJING, Oct. 30 (China Space News) — APSTAR-9 communications satellite was successfully positioned in its designed orbit on the early morning of October 25, and the in-orbit test then began.
APSTAR-9 was launched successfully on 17 Oct, 2015. It has performed five orbital manoeuvres at perigee and apogee before finally being positioned.
The satellite measurement and control work was transferred from Xi'an Satellite Control Center to the ground station of APT Satellite Company Limited in the afternoon of 25th. Telecontrol, telemetry and tracking of the satellite has been working properly.
It is the first time that China provided in-orbit delivery service for a mature international satellite operator, and also the seventh in-orbit delivery project of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
