BEIJING, Dec. 10 (China Space News) — The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) announced on Dec. 7th that 131 prominent scientists have been elected as academicians.

61 scientists have been elected CAS members, bringing the total membership to 777.

Jiang Jie, chief designer of the Long March 3A carrier rocket, is one of them.

70 scientists have been elected as CAE members, and the total number of CAE members reached 852 after the addition.

Hou Xiao, vice president of Academy of Aerospace Solid Propulsion Technology, was recruited in the Division of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering of CAE.
