CASC Commemorates 100th Birth Anniversary of Qian Xuesen

BEIJING, Dec. 9 (China Space News) — One academy and two laboratories of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation(CASC) were unveiled on Dec.9 at the ceremony in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birthday of the late scientist, Qian Xuesen, the man known as the father of China's aerospace technology.
At the ceremony, the former China Aerospace Engineering Consultation Center was renamed China Academy of Aerospace Systems Science and Engineering, two new laboratories, Qian Xuesen Laboratory of Launch Vehicle Technology and Qian Xuesen Laboratory of Space Technology were unveiled, and a book series entitled Qian Xuesen and China's Space was launched.
The book series offers a way to honor Qian's outstanding contributions and inspire people to carry forward the spirit of selfless devotion, Ma Xingrui, president of CASC, said at the launch ceremony.
