BEIJING, Dec. 12 (China Space News) — The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) announced on Dec. 9 that it had elected 54 new academicians. Liu Lianyuan, a research fellow at China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology was elected academician of the Division of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering of CAE.

As an expert in strategic missile technologies, Liu has made a substantial contribution to China's space industry and modernization of national defense.

Now CASC has 32 academicians, more than any other state-owned enterprise.
