BEIJING, July 13 (China Space News) -- Control of Zhongxing-10 satellite was recently handed over to China Satellite Communications Co., Ltd (China Satcom) by its manufacturer - China Academy of Space Technology under China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.

A Long March-3B launch vehicle carrying Zhongxing-10 blasted off from Xichang Satellite Launch Center on June 21, 2011. It was then positioned in a geostationary orbit. It will be used for broadcasting and communications. Currently, Zhongxing-10 has more transponders, launch mass and power demand than any other Chinese civil/commercial in-orbit satellites.
