Large-scale Spacecraft AIT Center Under Construction

BEIJING, Sept. 17 (China Space News) — China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation is building a large-scale spacecraft AIT center at Tianjin Binhai New Area.
A ceremony was held on Sept. 7 to officially kick off the construction of the 1.5 billion yuan center.
The roughly 100,000-square-meter AIT center will be used for assembly of China's large spacecraft -- including the manned space station -- as well as testing and conducting environmental experiments on them.
The center will be able to roll out seven or eight large spacecraft annually, large communications satellites, large remote-sensing satellites, and large space deployment mechanism.
