China Gives Satellite Data to Turkmenistan

BEIJING, Sept. 29 (China Space News) — Mr. Zhou Yongkang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee handed over a substantial amount of satellite data to Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov during their talks in the Turkmenistan capital Ashgabat on Sept. 24.
The remote sensing images covered the entire of Turkmenistan’s 49,000 square kilometers of territory.
Ziyuan III captured the images. The satellite was designed and launched by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
It is the first time that China has given its remote-sensing satellite data as a gift to another country.
