On May 27, eight mountaineers reached the summit of Mt. Qomolangma at 11 am and began conducting a survey to remeasure the height of the world's highest peak.

CASC's technology and applications such as BeiDou Satellite Navigation System, Zhongxing-6A communication satellite and Fengyun-4 satellite have ensured the smooth undertaking of the country's latest quest to re-measure the height of Mount Qomolangma.

The receiver of the Global Navigation Satellite System carried by the team to the peak can grasp key positioning information such as the height of the snow surface on the Qomolangma summit, which can help calculate the overall height. It is also the first time that BeiDou-based Chinese GNSS receivers have been used to measure the height of Mount Everest.
