BEIJING, Oct. 24 (China Space News) — The multispectral camera on board the SJ-9A satellite was turned on October 18 and has successfully returned its first images.
The images were then distributed to China Centre for Resources Satellite Data and Application (CRESDA), who released the high-resolution multispectral images after processing the data.
The SJ-9 spacecraft, composed of satellite A and satellite B, are the first in a series of the new civilian technological experiment satellites.
It is reported that the satellite image data returned can be widely used in our land resources survey and monitoring, agriculture, forestry, water conservancy, urban and rural planning, environmental protection, disaster prevention and reduction, and other areas, to meet the urgent needs of users for high-resolution data.
