The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), the leading force of the country's space industry, announced Tuesday that there will be more than 50 launch missions planned for the year of 2023.
The announcement was made during a work meeting of the corporation in 2023.
According to CASC, the 50-plus arrangements of launch missions for 2023 will comprehensively push forward the fourth phase of the lunar exploration project and the planet exploration project with researches on development carried out for Chang'e-7 and Tianwen-2. Besides, the Long March-6C carrier rocket will make its maiden flight.
In addition, the year of 2023 will mark the application and development phase for China's manned space station project, as the in-orbit Tiangong space station will enter its normal operation mode.
In 2022, CASC successfully carried out six launch missions for space station construction and two spacecraft return missions. During the year, China achieved a remarkable phase that observed the overall completion of constructing China's space station with more than 50 launch missions for the first time, setting a fresh record for successful back-to-back space launches and flight tests.
