Recently, the Egyptian Satellite Assembly, Integration and Test Center project (EGA Project) passed the final acceptance review organized by relevant departments in Cairo, Egypt. The project is implemented by Beijing Institute of Spacecraft Environment Engineering (BISEE), a subsidiary of the China Academy of Space Technology(CAST). Thus, the final acceptance of the project has been completed with high quality, and it will enter the phase of project handover between the governments of China and Egypt.
The EGA Project is China's first system-level spacecraft development infrastructure export project that has been delivered and successfully applied to satellite assembly, integration and testing. It is one of the flagship projects of the China-Egypt Belt and Road Initiative cooperation, making Egypt the first African country with the capacity to assemble, integrate and test satellites.
