The construction of China's first universal launch site for liquid fuel rockets was officially completed in Wenchang City, south China's island province of Hainan, on Thursday.
The new launch pad, which is the No. 2 launch pad of China's first commercial spacecraft launch site, the Hainan commercial spacecraft launch site, is equipped with an innovative rapid launch mode, significantly improving launch efficiency and shortening the launch preparation time.
It is designed to meet the launch needs of more than 10 rocket models including Long March, Kuaizhou, and Jielong, from various rocket developers.
Construction of the No.2 launch pad started on October 30, 2022, and its design and completion represent a technological leap of the launch center. Now, the launch center is expected to enter the full-system joint training phase for the first rocket launch mission.
