On September 4, during the 2024 South Africa-China Presidential Business Forum, China Great Wall Industry Corporation, a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sasol Limited, a South African international chemical and energy company. The partnership aims to jointly advance technological cooperation to assist Sasol in achieving its carbon reduction goals in South Africa.
During the South Africa-China Presidential Business Forum, Mr Hu Zhongmin, the Chairman of CGWIC, and Dr Sarushen Pillay, the Executive Vice President of Sasol, signed the memorandum of understanding in the presence of senior South African officials and business partners, celebrating a significant milestone in the collaboration between the two companies.
Under the guidance of CASC, CGWIC and Sasol initiated discussions on strategic cooperation in 2023, aiming to introduce advanced aerospace technologies and equipment to South Africa, contributing to sustainable energy development and the achievement of carbon reduction goals. This collaboration leverages the strengths and expertise of both companies in technological innovation, facilitating the transformation and upgrading of Sasol's core operations to fulfill its corporate responsibilities of carbon reduction and carbon neutrality.
